In a realm where magic is both feared and coveted, a young boy named Mark Laden finds himself on the run from a power-hungry king determined to control all those who wield such abilities. He was left in the care of an old couple at only a few years old and grew to learn how to run and hide the year he turned 10, when his magic became noticeable. Mark, gifted with magical talents, must flee his home after a run in with some guards after 6 years of being under the radar, and embark on a perilous journey to evade capture. Alongside him are his loyal friends Bella, a fierce and resourceful ally, and John, his steadfast best friend with whom he shares a deep and unspoken bond.

As they navigate treacherous landscapes and elude relentless guards, Mark, Bella, and John discover the king's sinister plan to ignite a war that could engulf the entire realm.
