What began in 2019 as a terrifying virus that rapidly spread across the globe quickly turned its victims into mindless, flesh-hungry creatures rotting husks driven only by insatiable hunger and primal rage. After 51 years of suffering, a sanctuary was finally established a massive fortress-city known as Nexaris. Separated from the infected wastes by an enormous, impenetrable wall, Nexaris became a beacon of hope in a devastated world. The city is a marvel of futuristic technology, governed and maintained by advanced AI systems and electronic surveillance, where every detail is controlled to protect the last remnants of mankind.

Leading Unit V-Zero is Krittin Vireon, known in combat as "Zero-Wolf", the eldest son of Chancellor Amon Vireon. Krittin is a fierce and relentless captain, augmented with experimental serum injections that enhance his strength, reflexes, and resilience beyond normal human limits. he carries the heavy burden of protecting his people while grappling with the ghosts of a broken world

When a mysterious signal is detected in the perilous Red Zone beyond Nexaris's walls, Chancellor Amon orders Krittin to investigate believing there may still be survivors out there. Venturing into the infected wasteland, Krittin finds and rescues Dr. Naret Lin, code-named Echo-Red a gifted scientist who vanished early in the outbreak and has since been studying the virus from the shadows. Naret is one of the few immune to both the Type-0 and Nex-13 infections, making him invaluable.
