During the late 10th century, Rebekah Mikaelson befriended a girl in the village. She eventually fell for one of the girl's brothers. As they grew closer, they discovered that both of their families harbored many secrets. However, one day, something went terribly wrong.

Now over a thousand years later she is back where it all began. She is now looking for answers and trying to find the love of her life. All while trying to deal with the supernatural problems being shoved in her way while trying to keep all her secrets.

What happened? What went wrong? Who is the girl that Rebekah befriended? Which brother did the girl fall for?
