The North Myrtle Beach airplane crash on July 2, 2023, resulted in the tragic deaths of five individuals. The Piper PA-32R-300 aircraft, piloted by Dr. Joseph Farnese, crashed shortly after takeoff, about two miles northwest of Grand Strand Airport. Preliminary investigations by the NTSB revealed no apparent engine issues prior to the crash. Witnesses reported seeing the plane struggle to gain altitude and then veer sharply before descending rapidly. The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to determine the exact cause of this devastating accident.
