It has been over a year since the ninja won against the Crystal King, otherwise known as the Overlord. Again.

Although there's been less crime in the city, the ninja would always find something to do in their spare time.

One day, they were minding their own business flying their beloved ship aimlessly when their innocent trip took an unexpected turn. Something suddenly disrupted their peaceful journey - a darkness unlike ever before. 

This inflicts chaos in and out of the realm of Ninjago, and all goes wrong.
