"Warhorse, priority assignment, group troops in need of immediate CAS at map grid two-five-niner, one-one-niner, how copy over?" The radio crackled in my ear as the lock-on alarm blared. "Negative negative! We are being hit by anti-aircraft fire! Over!" I screamed into the radio, trying and failing to stay behind the other A-10, which wove in and out of tracers. A rocket suddenly slammed into the wing of my A-10, blowing half of it off and fluttering to the ground below. I felt the plane sag, before it began to fall out of the sky. "I'm hit! I'm hit! Ejecting!" I grabbed the yellow pull handle. PHOOMP. The canopy flew off, before the seat rocketed out of the falling aircraft, the parachute fluttering out as I began to quickly descend into the forest below.

Every pilot is here for his own set of reasons, Some are too addicted to war having spent too much time on the edge of life and death. Some just want to escape the boredom of the civilian world. Some just want the thrill of an adrenaline rush but the most important reason is money. How far are these pilots willing to push themselves with regards to right and wrong? It was cold. Very cold. 'How did I get here?' I pondered over and over. Here I was, surrounded by an endless sea of snow covered trees. All around me, I could see layers among layers of snow. I lay there, staring up into the sky, wondering what had just happened. I had died. Or at least, I thought I died. Synopsis: A 34 year old soldier Simo Shephard dies while in active combat, yet instead of waking up at the pearly gates, he wakes up in a different kind of hell. Read as he survives in a world of animal hybrids known as chimeras, and as he tries his best to aid humanity as they dwindle ever closer to a silent extinction. Will he succeed in making a foothold for humanity? Will he change the tyrannical ways of the world? Or will he fail, leaving the fate of humanity to the chimeras. The company that owned it, Vault-Tec, was a government-funded organisation that worked to find ways to preserve human life in the case of global disaster: environmental, nuclear, or otherwise. Due to Y/N's service history, he was allowed into the vault during the nuclear warhead exchange between America and China, and that's where our story starts. “Run Maeve! Run!!” I could hear Phoenix’s voice yell to me in pain as I dashed through the woods while branches smacked me. I had to run faster, I had to escape, whatever that creature was it wanted me. I felt my feet slow down and my breathing sped up and I felt a burning sensation in my chest. I couldn’t stop; I couldn’t slow down….RUN! I forced my feet to move faster as I heard wings flapping just a few feet behind me. My 2nd Anthro x Human Story. Jonathan or (Y/N) is a fighter pilot of the United Human Nations. Humanity has been at war with Anthros for nearly 10 years. Jonathan has fought for Humanity at the age of 8. He never hated Anthros originally but after losing his family to the war, his opinion on Anthros changed and he saw them as monsters. While on a bombing mission, he is shot down and captured. My name is Jenny Ridout, Captain Ridout, if we're including useless titles. Ever since I was a little girl, I've wanted to be a fighter pilot. I imagined easy missions, escorts and the thrill of flying. I never thought I would be stuck on the ground with the special forces. As the battle dragged on, I came to realize, if my comrades were to make it out, I had a decision to make. Our lives are on the line. How far would one go to save their comrades? Their friends. Would you risk your life, knowing that it's more than likely you won't return home. Hello, (author speaking.) This book is far from complete. It sort of functions as a stand alone short story, however I am working on writing a medium length novel. The short story on Wattpad is more of an extremely condensed version of the middle of the book. I set out to write a short story, and ended up with twelve thousand words in the first chapter. I promptly gave up on constraints and decided to make it into a complete novel. If anyone is interested in reading the complete story, which (unlike the wattpad version, will be thoroughly edited and will progress past a first draft😂) if anyone wants to read the full book, it will be on Apple Books, eh... eventually. It's coming along slowly, I have three other books in the go at the same time. Also being a violinist which takes up much of my time. 😁 This book is completely original and I own all rights to Vancouver Wings and all its characters and contents. But, just because we forgot about the monsters, doesn't mean they ever forgot about us. They did exist, and they never went anywhere. They were hiding, watching, and waiting for their moment to remind humanity why we really fear the dark and the unknown. But what am I saying? Everyone who's left already knows this. I just found out the truth a little earlier than most. So, I'm Adrian Johnson, former pilot for the U.S. Air Force, and this is the story of how I met my first dragon. *Author's Note* First off, if you've found this and decided to give it a read, then thank you very much!
