If you think this is the tale of the little mermaid, trading her voice for legs, and marry the man of her dreams. Well...it's not the same storyline for this little mermaid. 

Vivian Rae is the rebellious little mermaid, but the difference is that she's not like the other little mermaids in this story. She does rescue a human prince but she doesn't admit that she loves him yet, Vivian Rae isn't saying that love at first sight doesn't exist but she doubts a prince would love her.

Prince Ian loves Vivian Rae but knew that she needs time to see it for herself and when Vivian turns human, he realized that she needs his help after being a mermaid for so long. But his parents is forcing him to marry a princess from a neighboring kingdom, Ian loves Vivian, but he cannot let her die from the same fate or let alone be turned back into a mermaid.
