No one in their right mind would believe Harry would choose the dark side. Dumbledore always pretended to protect Harry, and care about what he was actually going through. He always believed Harry was to stubborn and stupid to be by himself and manipulated him to do his bidding. Unfortunately for him he was wrong. Hermione and Ron were only friends with Harry because Dumbledore was paying for them too. When Harry finds out the truth, he decides enough is enough.
