Bella Adere, after watching her simple college life fall apart, is selected for the Matching, a competition in a foreign country that will determine the future queen and consort of the crown prince. 
Fueled by the desire to leave behind the broken pieces of her past life and start one where she gets to make her own choices, Bella travels to the beautiful country of Aeqaea in hopes of becoming its future queen. 
There's just one problem: In order to win the competition, Bella has to find a way to get the charming Azmir Thorne to like her. But that becomes more difficult than she was led to believe as feelings and morals begin to arise that conflict with her ambitions.  
Suddenly she's involved in Aeqaean family secrets. Not everyone is who they say they are.
