The Battle of Our Minds: Flesh and Blood
One of the most common wonders of the human existence is, "Why do good people do bad things?" The answer: an epic battle in the heavenly realms rages on between the Light and the Darkness with each passing minute. A battle that humans - well, most humans - can't see. The Darkness works to influence our souls, creating selfishness, resentment, anger, and hatred. The Light works to expose the Darkness for what it really is: an influence straight from Hell. These two opposing forces each have their own means of waging warfare. Nephilim, creatures of the Light, have been given the mission to fight against the demons of Darkness that bid humanity to do their will. Unfortunately, not all Nephilim want to accept this mission, favoring a mission entirely of their own.
A secret society of Nephilim - human descendants of angels - operates at New City University. This secret society, the Five Minds, is made up of organized cohorts establishing each of their roles - the historians, the delegators, the advocates, the healers, and the perceivers - based on their angelic abilities. Together, these Nephilim serve the Light by fighting the demons of Darkness, otherwise known as fallen angels, by intervening when the demons coerce or possess humans into doing their will. While their operation has been straightforward for the past century, something is stirring in their quaint college town. Unprecedented violence is threatening everything they've worked for. As an uprising grows from within the security of their network, the Five Minds begins to discover that the demons' reach not only extends to humans, but to Nephilim as well.
