Let's try this again. NASA launches a manned mission to the Kuiper belt to repair a space probe that had become silent. Humanity used to thrive in 2035 until a group of scientists started playing God. This science team was recruited by all the top world leaders and they've begun receiving demands for a super soldier, and they began experimenting on animals, which gave the scientists expected results, but like all experiments, there was a chance for failure. The humanoid animals, or Anthros for short, started getting smarter, faster than the scientists expected, or reacted. The Anthros broke free and took what was left of the 'White Mist,' the substance that created them, and put it into the planet's air supply. Long story short, most animals worldwide have begun transforming into Anthros, and started devastating the world's militaries before attacking cities. Humanity is now facing extinction with their last millions while the Anthro civilization is over 2 Billion strong and counting. The war between Humans and Anthros has lasted for over 50 years, and while humans may be disadvantaged against the Anthros higher strength, speed, endurance, and intelligence, they still beat Anthros with improvisation, adaptability, and tactics. The war has destroyed all four Eastern continents, leaving behind a creature both Humans and Anthros call Reapers, who are husks of the person they were. The Anthros have near complete control over North America and are fighting Humanity in South America, but the main human bases are located on the Hawaiian islands. With death seeming inevitable for human kind, can nothing stop humanity from extinction? Zero has just graduated from high school with good marks and a scholarship. ONI however is... they're getting on my nerves, they're being more paranoid than usual and I have an idea why, a field report in 2559 was filed during the Spirit of Fire issue, during their skirmises with the Banished, but that's not what's scaring ONI, at least i don't think.. in that report, a squad of marines under interim commander "Major Vaughan" have reported suspicious activity near firebase Omikron... something about a shifting shape with bioluminescent curtains within. a strange report to say the least, but whatever it is it's got ONI's panties in a bunch...
