Waking up to a new reality
Eric was the younger of twelve year old twins, just approaching their thirteenth birthday. Although only six minutes younger than Lauren, she was clearly the alpha character when it came to sibling rivalry; she had an effervescent outgoing personality and exuded confidence in everything that she did. Eric, on the other hand, was introverted and largely lived his life in under the shadow of his sister. That was until Eric was diagnosed with a life threatening condition. Admitted to hospital for emergency life-changing surgery. Waking up a different person there was a new-found confidence and optimism that results in a metamorphosis into a life that is far from the shadows. Born out of Covid-19 lockdown, this was conceived as a light-hearted short story to counteract the doom and gloom that was resulting from the pandemic. It grew longer than expected, as I got to know Erin. The story might still be a bit rough round the edges, but I wanted to release it in time for summer vacation reading. There is no violence or hatred, just kindness and acceptance. For those that discount this as unrealistic of the real world, I counter two arguments: 1) It is a complete work of fiction. 2) My son went to Lycee (Senior secondary school) in rural France, where attitudes are generally very conservative. Despite this, there was a girl his his year, who believed she should have been a boy. HE was accepted for who he was, without prejudice. Hopefully it offers a little light reading with a happy ending. Not that the story is set in Scotland and the spelling reflects British convention, perhaps with some Scottish dialect thrown in.Concluida

Gavin agrees to keep Carl's secret but at a price. One that will cost him everything including his heart. What happens when what is considered a sin by his faith ends up being the sweetest feeling that Carl has ever experienced in his life? **** "And where are you off to so fast, Carlito?" His mint laden breath scorched my face at his question. His face was a few inches from mine. If someone were to walk in now, they would think that we are about to make out which is obviously not the case because I would never. I repeat, never ever dream of kissing this monster. I'd rather chew my own foot! "It's none of your business, Gavin." I spat the words. "Oh, but your business is my business Carlito. Or did you forget?" He declared, his eyes holding mine hostage. His eyes were like an endless jungle, so green and deep. I wonder what it would be like to stare at them all night long. Stop thinking about such shit, Carl! "Gavin, I don't have time for this." I managed to form a sentence. It wasn't helping that he was so close to me. That I could feel every ab and muscle on his body pressed against me. "Then what do you have time for? A 7 year old boy is saved from horrid circumstances. In his new home he must learn how to live in a pack. He learns that not all family is blood and not everything you think is true in life is. This is a werewolf book however it is not in the same world as my other books. New world new rules but give it a chance! This book contains torture and mentions of rape. Also this book is NOT BxB or Ddlb. Story excerpt "Put on your tough face CC. I'm gonna get you out of here. Just keep your head down little brother." Ace says holding the back of my neck as he looks down on me. "Slaves! Present yourselves!" The warden bellows. I stand beside Ace in our cell with my head bowed like a good slave. "You! Runt! What's wrong with the whore!?" The man asks me and I growl but my lack of wolf makes it weak. "My Ma is not a whore!" I yell my voice squeaking as I fight the tears. The warden ripps open the bars and picks me up by my neck. "If she's not a whore than who is your father, runt?" He growls and I lower my head as best I can in his grip.
