Kaminari is getting dangerously close with the villains, specifically Toga. And ends up being the bearer of some very surprising and frankly devastating information. (This story takes place at the end of My Hero Academia but before the Epilogue Arc/ time skip.) Shota Aizawa (aka Eraser Head) was already struggling to come to terms with the decline of his quirk, Erasure, but his student Aoyama's decision to leave UA and his foster child Eri's return to her grandfather have thrust him into severe depression. The fact it was the anniversary of a certain tragedy was the icing on the cake.
