Prologue

Catalina Reyes had always walked the line between two worlds. She is an ordinary high school student, navigating the usual teenage dramas and mundane homework. But she is also a Nephilim, part of a secret order of shadow hunters sworn to protect humanity from the dark forces that lurked just out of sight. Her life was a balancing act, and every day was a tightrope walk between the mundane and the magical.

Till the begin of Catalina's junior year, her double life takes an unexpected turn. She is transferred to a new school, not just any school, but one where the supernatural is the norm. The Institute of Shadows is a sprawling campus hidden within the city's bustling heart, where the air crackled with magic and ancient secrets. Here, the halls were patrolled by beings of legend, and the student body was a mix of vampires, werewolves, and warlocks, each carrying their own mystique and power.

From the moment she stepped through the Institute's arching gates, Catalina felt the shift in the air-a tangible buzz of energy that was both exhilarating and intimidating. The grandeur of the old building was cloaked in an aura of danger and wonder. She quickly realized that this new school was not just a place of learning but a battleground where power, loyalty, and survival were tested daily.
