SPOILERS AHEAD:

In a seemingly ordinary small town, a new resident moves in, claiming to be a researcher studying local folklore. They start to become close to a local family, particularly the teenage daughter, who has been experiencing eerie occurrences around her home. The twist is revealed when it's discovered that the researcher is actually a malevolent entity who has been manipulating the daughter's mind. The entity feeds on fear and chaos, and it was using the researcher guise to get close to the family. The real horror unfolds when the daughter realizes that all the strange events were orchestrated to increase her fear, which the entity was feeding off to gain power.
