Alexandra Solace: The fifteen year old has Borderline Personality Disorder, which affects her every day life, and she's afraid of getting close to people, especially since her adoptive dad has been sexually abusing her and her birth family abandoned her when she was five.

Rory Raven: The seventeen year old has Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, a disorder that showed up a few weeks after his mom had died saving him in a burning house, caused by an armed robber.

Jayden Pierce: The sixteen year old has Major Depressive Disorder, from the years of neglect and psychological abuse from his mother and stepfather.

Layla Anderson: The sixteen year old has Bullmia Nervosa, from her family critizing her weight, and from the bullies at school.

Ryder Hayes: The fourteen year old has conduct disorder, with a high risk of developing antisocial personality Disorder, a disorder caused by years of neglect from his father and being sexually abused by his stepsister.

Declan Gonzalez: The fifteen year old has schizophrenia. He was always being locked in a dark closet by his parents, thinking that he was a demonic child, for reasons that will soon come to light. But this only caused him to see things that weren't there.

Brooklyn Hope: The thirteen year old has Generalized Anxiety Disorder, always worried and scared and fretful and stressed, and her big family is no help, always purposely triggering her anxiety.

All seven of them has something in common - they are all patients of the Yellow Daisy Mental Institution.
