A Dova's pride and suffocation

Everyone knows that whenever a child awakens their quirk, there's going to be at least some kind of accident but people just refuse to accept that, there could be pretty big problems just because it comes in. People refuse to accept that some people live harder lives all because their quirk makes them look different, or need something that other human beings needs. What if there was a child who's quirk changed how they act and look, to how they speak, to what they need to breath. What if that child's last breath a month ago was just before their quirk fully. Came in, what if when they found out what they inhale to everyone else's oxygen. What if when they try to reclaim their breath, they get called Alduin. Even after they force down their instincts day in day out, force themselves to not shiver from being unable to feel or produce much heat, to suffocate.
