A Mermaids Tears

May is secretly a mermaid. She has been in Stardew Valley for almost a year. By her own hand, she was exiled from her oceanic kingdom after confessing to her fellow merpeople that 20 years ago, she had an affair with a human while betrothed to the merman, Benton. All that time ago to cover up her scandal, and fearing what they might do to her unborn child she gives her half human infant conceived from her affair to the Wizard, who places her into Hayley's family home to live in the safety of Pelican Town without the knowledge of her mermaid heritage.
From exile, May chooses to find out what happened to her baby and now boards and works at the saloon hoping to grow closer with Emily before revealing her secret, that she is in fact, her mother and was adopted into Hayley's family all those years ago...
As the new farmer in town gets to know May, she begins working up the courage to tell Emily the truth.
