A broken TV shuts off as it lays on the ground on the street. A polluted city was being attacked from the robots that were supposed to be servants but somehow they malfunctioned. We go to the top of a building as we see a shadowy figure sitting down at the edge of the tower with one leg dangling down from the roof and the other bent on top of the edge as the figure rested its arm on top of its knee gazing down at the polluted city.

Everything is... gone. There's nothing left for me to do. All I have are my two sons, my only daughter, and my friends. I just don't know what to do anymore. My wife is gone, robots are taking over the planet, and what's worse... is that I'm supposed to be a hero. I'm Sonic. Sonic The Hedgehog and my wife Amy Rose has died to protect our children. Now it's my job to protect planet Mobius with the help of my younger brother, Miles "Tails" Prower, a red Echidna named Knuckles, two hedgehogs, Silver and Shadow. But I also have to protect my kids from the danger that hides through the alley ways in Planet Mobius.

Life starts out exciting for a pink hedgehog by the name of Aurora when she sets out on her own for the first time at the age of 20. The only downside to this is an extremely over-protective dad (Sonic) who constantly worries about the most ridiculous things happening to you, and the mom (Amy Rose) always pushes to set you free when it's time. Everything changes for Aurora and a black hedgehog named Shadow when they crash into each other at Shadow Canyons. Devastated, Aurora goes out to search for the Chaos Emeralds to save all the dimensions in existence (later figuring out she has to do more), figure out more about her powers, and to find Shadow's missing ex-girlfriend. They meet a sprite, a loyal wolf, a resistance, a young bat, a twist-hearted meerkat, and twin hedgehogs that share similarities with Shadow and Aurora. Throughout the journey, they all learn the power of teamwork, making Shadow feel unsure since what happened on Space Colony ARK and the last fiasco teaming up with Eggman. Shadow and Aurora get closer throughout the mission, but will they remain strong? Will they work together to accomplish the pink hedgehog's promise to her deceased BFF and mother? Why would Shadow team up with Aurora and their "friends"? Could it be to reach destiny, or true love? Who knows what'll happen next? What would Sonic think of all of this? So many questions.
