[My heart was pounding out of my chest as we made our way up the porcelain steps that led up to the concrete building. Why was I so nervous? There's no reason to be this scared. But my body wouldn't listen to my thoughts. I felt my hand being squeezed harder, my brother was hyperventilating as we all filed through the building. "Hey.." I stopped walking, putting my arms on his shoulders as tears threatened to pour out of his eyes. "There is no way you're going to be picked, no way." My voice was surprisingly stern, I sounded just like my father. The tears fell down his cheeks, but he still nodded, breaking away from my grasp and disappearing into the crowd.]
