"Why do you care?" He asked with a sardonic chuckle, making me wince.

"Why do I care? How can you ask that? Why shouldn't I care? Are you that blind, Aryamann? Don't you see that I am falling for you?" I asked, looking straight into his eyes with my heart in my eyes.

He let out another humourless chuckle.

"Is that what you think of me, Aryamann? After all this time spent together, is that what you think about me?" I asked, my voice breaking with every word I utter.

How could he even think of me like that?

"You agreed to this for money, Bhumi. All this pretence is for money. You are nothing but a gold digger," he said and I felt something break inside me.
