Alexandra, dived in and dragged the remains of Ember's body out of the lava lake, afterwards she slit her palm and gave a drop of blood upon his body, resurrecting him.

A betrayed Vessel was pushed down the fountain as a sacrifice to the Pale King in hopes he would return. Killing her fueled the Radiance's anger and the Infection began to spread faster, and take more violent control over it's hosts' bodies. This continued until the little knight arrived and put an end to the "Light that Plagued their Dreams." But when the hero died something much more unexpected happened, a wyrm of void and god appeared in the Ancient Basin, with the knowledge of things that had happened before, claiming to be the Vessel the old king's followers pushed down the fountain.
