"Push me away." The velvety voice, honeyed to the extent it felt alcoholic, put me in a blur, "Before I take you, right here, out in the open. Take you, until your throat is sore from screaming my name. Until all you remember is me." He kissed my cheek, mingling his breath with mine, cocooning me in a calming labyrinth of him - him, the ultimate trap.

I could barely think, much less push him away when his gentle touches were engulfing me in a torturous haze. I might as well have been on the edge of a cliff, on the verge of letting go.

Of all the responsibilities, of all the obstacles.

Everything about him was too sinfully attractive. I had to stay away.

I had a fiancée, and being that close to him would've meant making the same mistake twice.
