Piper is a 17-year-old dancer, brand new to Vancouver. After accepting a scholarship to Arts Umbrella Dance Company, her and her mom find themselves in the heart of Vancouver. After being there for less than a day, she meets Evan a funny neighbour boy in her new apartment, and they quickly become friends. Going into auditions at Arts Umbrella is scary for Piper; she's never seen so many dancers in one studio before. But a pretty Latina girl immediately stands out to her, and she decides to be brave and try to make another new friend, but unlike Evan, this girl isn't friendly upon their first encounter. Or the next few encounters for that matter.

Kadence, preferably known as Kadie, has dreamed of being a professional dancer ever since she was a little girl. Getting to audition for Arts Umbrella Dance Company for the first time was a huge accomplishment, and getting in was even bigger. Going into her third year of training the year after graduating high school is already presenting a few challenges for her. While she's already comfortable in her dance life and being out as one of the only lesbian dancers with her gay brother, supportive cousins and friends by her side, going into auditions is already presenting Kadie some interesting challenges. Specifically, one Piper, who can't seem to leave her alone.

Read Piper and Kadie to find out how this unlikely friendship blooms into more through the art of dance.
