Nameless Misfortune (duskwood/Jake x female MC)

"What's your name girl? Where do you come from eh?"

I blinked into oblivion. I knew neither of the answers to these questions. I remember asking my mother what my name was once, followed by a heavy slap. So I thought maybe children only had names in stories, in real life only adults had names.

So i said boldly, "I don't have a name, I'm a child"

The women looked at me as if I was a frog dancing on a frying pan.

"She's Probably a bastard child of some slut" the other woman said with a smug sneer.

At that, the first woman laughed. She sounded like the witch from snow white.
"You better choose a name in ten minutes or else you'll be left to rot in the streets"
