Haunted by the abuse of his ex-boyfriend and the past he had to leave behind, he moved across the country and changed his name to Elijah Aetos. Needing to disappear, his appearance had to change as well. Fortunately for him, he found a place that doesn't necessarily care about your I.D or any other sensitive material. He decides to rebuild his life while also being skeptically cautious about everyone he meets. So when he runs into his mysterious neighbor, things for Eli unfold, and his heart becomes troubled.

Cade Harper is determined to avenge his tragic past, shaping him into who he is today. His job, one so dark he never dares share his heart due to the blood staining his hands forever. Fearing his own emotions and the terrifying thought of opening his heart, he promised himself that no one would get close. That all changes when he runs into his new neighbor and spots the many gastly bruises, something within him snaps. Overwhelmed with an urge to protect him, Cade slowly weaves himself into Eli's life, despite the lingering void around him.

As they grow closer, Cade realizes that Eli might not be as innocent as he portrays. With blood, secrets, and darkness surrounding them both, they somehow find a comfort within each other. But how long can their relationship last when one becomes a target?
