Hawaii has a power, it seems, especially over the heart, and Elvis Presley is not immune to it. It is spring of 1961, and he is in Hawaii on the island of Kaua'i filming his movie Blue Hawaii. He meets a young woman at the hotel he's staying in while filming is going on - The Coco Palms Resort, which is used in the film. This young woman happens to be a member of the staff there and is in charge of readying the hotel for the film and its famous guests. Her name is Lola, and she always wears a pink hibiscus flower in her blonde hair. After Elvis rescues Lola from a scary argument with her boss, she and Elvis become close, and in a place like Hawaii, feelings can heighten more than what's normal. This could cause problems with Elvis's flame Priscilla Beaulieu and his girlfriend Anita Wood, and he's trying to sort out his feelings for his costar Joan Blackman. Could his new feelings for this blonde beauty with a flower in her hair cause him to question his relationships with and his feelings for these three young women?

This is too good to be true! She knows, though, that there's absolutely no chance with him because she's seven inches taller than he is, and he's a world-famous star who has a teen girlfriend who he met in Germany. No other woman has a chance with him, besides Joan Blackman, who plays his love interest in the movie, and who he is in love with. He also has another girlfriend Anita Wood. So, yes, Deanne doesn't have a chance. He has two girlfriends, he's in love with another woman, and... guys don't like tall girls. Elvis is intrigued with this very tall girl who becomes his coworker on the movie set. She is kind, funny and extremely pretty, but she has a lack of self-esteem since she seems to be hassled and made fun of because of her height - no one sees the real her since her height masks it. Well, maybe he can do something about this so she can see herself as an incredible and beautiful individual, inside and out. Falling for her is a possibility, regardless of his teen girlfriend Priscilla, other girlfriend Anita Wood, and love for his co-star Joan.
