Theo and her mother are new to the Outer Banks. With nothing but a small job opportunity for her mom, they packed up their things and pursue their dream to live life by the ocean. Charli, Theo's best friend already lives on the Outer Banks with her mom, thriving during the summer time by exploring the multitude of adventures with her group of friends.

As Theo is welcomed with open arms into the group, she makes a terrible mistake her first night at a party. Chaos seems to follow Theo as many things begin to unfold in her life. She is pursued by an unknown assailant, fearing for her life as one decision has changed the course of her fate. Will her emerging feelings for Sarah's older brother Rafe work out in her favour? Or will they cause the chaos that is now her life in the outer banks?
