Chapter 1
“Mom, I’m going to the candy store to get a candy bar. After that I’m going to the park to hang out!” Kelly yelled to her mom from the bottom of the stairs. “Ok, be back before supper though.” The First Lady Kristen Palmer said. The president came from around the corner, “Make sure that you don’t see Drew Adams, he is bad news. You-” Kelly cut him off mid. sentance. “Whatever dad. Bye!” Kelly turned on her heel and walked out the front door of the White House.
A sound of a bell came as the front door of the candy shop. “Hi, there Kelly. What does the first daughter want today?” The candy shop was on the corner of Grove St. and 15th St. NW. It was small old looking candy shop. The inside floor was all oak wood, the side walls was yellow with little candy’s evenly spaced out. Candy was in buckets that was on shelves, and on small metal shelves in the middle of the store. There was also some candy in the glass counter where you would have to pay. “I just came in here to get a candy bar.” Kelly came into the store a lot. She was close friends with Jimmy, the store owner. Kelly came around the counter to sit on the stool. “So what’s new with you, Jimmy?” Kelly asked as she started to open the candy bar. “I’m going on vacation for a week.” He told her as he sat on his stool in front of the cash register. “Cool, where are you going?” Kelly asked as she got up to throw away her candy wrapper. As soon as she sat back down the bell on top of the door rang, everyone froze. “Jimmy, can I get a can-” Drew Adams stopped in mid-sentence, he saw Kelly standing behind the counter. “Kelly, I wasn’t expecting you here.” Kelly opened her mouth to speak, but the secret service was surrounding Kelly, and Drew was on the floor in pain.
