In an attempt of leave Reach he was transported to another world where people have superpowers, heroes are saving the day and stopping crime. 
Supers are heroes. civilians treat them as celebrities. Vought turn them into entertainment. 
But under the smile and saving the day the supes are corrupted and Vought is corrupted business that sponsors them.
