The year is 2046 and monsters are real.

Every beast you can think of has come out of the woodwork, exposing their existence to humans. Werewolves prowl the land in shapeshifting form, daemati linger at crossroads, vampires prey on those weakened by the upheaval. Sophie is fighting back as best as she can in a world filled with supernatural creatures by smuggling away human mates from under their noses. To her its the price they pay for ruining her life. It's just another mission or so Sophie thinks until she gets caught in a raid. Her ex-husband Tommy, the man Sophie had thought was gone forever, has reappeared as a wolf. Not an ordinary one either--an alpha ruling over a sizeable territory and angling to unite the country under his rule. He just found Sophie again and this time she's his for good.

| "I found you again and I'm not letting go this time. You're mine, Sophie," his velvet whisper crept over me with a shiver.

I stumbled back and his eyes flickered with delight. He was going to enjoy the chase, I knew it. |

A man who would NEVER admit his attraction, knowing that he could completely upend her simple life. Alpha Malcolm. But, all it takes to change that is one drunken confession. "Love is just another kind of power. The only question is-who holds it, and who is foolish enough to give it away?" At eighteen, Ira was forced into marriage with a man she did not love-an aging, wealthy noble whose power kept her safe but caged. Now, with his death, his fortune, influence, and enemies are hers to inherit. As the only human wielding true power in a society ruled by werewolves, Ira is both envied and despised. Some want to control her, others want to see her fall, and one in the shadows might want something far more dangerous. But when Ira crosses paths with the Alpha King, a man who never takes interest in humans, everything changes. His attention is as intoxicating as it is dangerous, a promise wrapped in steel. And in the shadows, watching her with a sharper, quieter kind of hunger, stands the Beta-a man even more dangerous than the king himself. Torn between two men who should be her enemies and a world waiting for her downfall, Ira must navigate a game of power, betrayal, and whispered temptation. Because in a world where love is just another form of control, the only way to survive is to master the game-or be devoured by it.
