Join our Upper Mustang Tiji Festival Jeep Tour to Nepal's dramatic Upper Mustang region to witness its vibrant annual Tiji Festival, a sacred three-day celebration of Buddhist culture in the former forbidden Kingdom of Lo. 

Our exhilarating jeep tour escorts you deep into this isolated trans-Himalayan area bordering Tibet. The region is a hidden world of red cliff-lined valleys dotted with whitewashed villages, ancient monasteries, and medieval walled cities barely touched by modernity.

Before starting the journey to Upper Mustang, we'll explore Kathmandu's heritage sites. The trip begins with a flight viewing mountain vistas from Pokhara. Then we'll fly north to Jomsom village, the gateway between the mountain region.  

Our journey upstream along the mighty Kali Gandaki River truly begins as the landscape turns increasingly arid and starkly Beautiful. Pausing to explore hillside caves and towns lost in time along the way, we'll overnight in local teahouses. 

During the period, we can interact with an otherworldly mix of peoples following Tibetan Buddhism, and Bon shamanistic traditions largely vanished elsewhere.

The stunning centerpiece of the Upper Mustang region is Lo Manthang, an astonishing medieval walled city that was once the capital of the Kingdom of Lo. It largely still retains that regal atmosphere today. 

Founded in 1380, this remote outpost looks like a film set with its towering clay walls, arched gateways, monasteries, and twisted streets that transport you back centuries in time. 

One of the last remnants of historic Tibetan culture left in the world, here you'll see crimson-clad monks, hearty yaks, and proud local traditions. 

As honored guests, we'll celebrate the Tiji Festival in its full glory, through dances and centuries-old ceremonies intended to conquer negativity across the land.
