A mysterious plume of blue mist has been spotted at the edge of one of the many lakes in Minnesota. Suddenly, nothing is the same anymore. The climate has taken a dramatic shift, and the landscape in the surrounding area has started to change. Two twin girls, named Annabelle and Isabelle Sommers, are caught in the cross hairs of the ever changing world. Will they be able to discover what has caused these changes, and where the mist came from? And will it be possible to stop the changes before the world as they know it is lost? Also, who are these curious new creatures who have suddenly begun to inhabit the new lands...?

Three years after the miracle was reborn through the twin flame, life in the Encanto has flourished. But Mirabel begins to uncover strange artifacts hidden within Casita-letters, jewelry, a locket with a name: Alma. Not her Abuela. Another Alma. One erased from memory, and perhaps from time itself. At the same time, Marisol's powers begin to shift. She starts seeing "echoes"-moments from the past that play out like ghosts before her. One echo shows a young woman who looks strikingly like Mirabel, standing at a river, cradling a candle of her own. As these echoes grow stronger, the Madrigal family begins to question everything they thought they knew about the miracle's origin. What if the first flame had nothing to do with Abuela's candle? What if it was stolen... or rewritten? Mirabel, Téo, and Marisol must follow the clues to a forgotten piece of their family's past-one buried beneath the Encanto itself, and one that could either complete the miracle... or undo it entirely.
