Phoenix has never smiled once in her life. For years she wondered why she couldn't laugh or smile, and after years of wondering she gave up trying to find her answers.

Phoenix meets John Vera who becomes her new boss. John knows he shouldn't like Phoenix so much, but there's something about her 'smile' that draws his attention to her.

John is everything Phoenix hates, but most importantly, she hates his smile. As they slowly start to know each other, Phoenix starts to open up about her life, more specifically her childhood. Phoenix knows she's slowly falling for John, and she even feels herself start to slowly smile.

Phoenix knows she needs John in her life, just as much as John needs her.
