The Ascendant Trials

The Ascendant Trials are a series of battles and challenges that people with special abilities must participate in, to find out who are among the most elite.
Every year there is an ascendant test everyone at the age of 18 must take in order to find out if they have Veloran abilities.
"Normal" people who are chosen and taken to the realm of Velora where they will be brutally trained until their abilities finally surface.
From there they will then begin training to manage their powers and learn to use them in battle.
They then will participate in the Ascendant Trials, which can be deadly for those who aren't strong enough.
We must find out who are among the most elite and are the most powerful Ascendants.
Emory Vittorio may not be well seasoned in fighting or physical combat, but she sure is no stranger to pain and survival.
After he mother tragically passed away when she was four years old, she has had to fight to survive the wrath of her abusive father.
When Emory is chosen to participate in the Ascendant Trials, she can finally escape the wrath of her father and head to the powerful realm of Velora.
Here she will face challenges she never knew could be possible, and will have to fight in a different way here to survive.
It doesn't help that one of her trainers is among the most powerful elites, as well as the most powerful assholes she's ever met.
Bane Abarra has been recruited (voluntold) to be a trainer for the Ascendant trials, which is probably one of the last things on earth he would ever want to be apart of after being in the trials himself.
What happens when Emory has to put up with the brutal asshole trainer, who has something against Emory that she can't figure out.
As time goes on maybe they will realize that they are more alike than they are different.
