Since the epidemic, Ghouls have been allowed topside where every day is Halloween. Under the cover of the lesser caste Zombies, they now rule the night side-by-side with their flesh eating brothers and sisters. 

Hal’s life just got easier with this new free-to-roam policy. If he brings his prize (one human) by the last day of school, he’ll not only ace his final and graduate, he'll also impress the most popular ghoul in school, Agnes. 

It’s Vanessa’s job to keep humans safe from things that go bump in the night, especially Ghouls and Zombies. From a long line of protectors, she has a secret and something to prove. When she accidentally ruins Hal’s most important moment, the two ancient beings square off in a feud that goes back centuries.
