Knox Riorson's life was shattered eight years ago when her father's role as the leader of a failed rebellion led to her being sent to a foster home with an assassin who helped end the uprising. Though she's always known her future would lead her to the Riders Quadrant, the journey has been anything but simple.
For the past seven years, Knox has been haunted by persistent voices-whispers in her mind that began a year after the rebellion. These voices have been her only companions, and she's determined to uncover why they're there, always talking and listening.

He would be a second year by the time she crossed the Parapet, and she would make it her mission to find Xaden and become his ally at Basgiath War College. She would give her life for his, as for he had done far more for her than she deserved. She would become as loyal to him as a dog to its owner. This book is a fan fiction of Rebecca Yarros' Empyrean series. It takes place one year before fourth wing, I plan to make books that follow the series. So there should be five more after this one, six in total. All characters and storyline belong to RY, besides Skyla Whitlock and some added characters that I made up due to when and where this book takes place. He's the only one who's ever seen her cry, the one she always hugs a little tighter than everyone else, and the one of two people outside of leadership that knows about her classified signet. The only thing keeping her from making a move is her friendship with him and her desire not to mess it up. Garrick Tavis is also in his third year at Basgiath. Like Katrina, he's had both her and Xaden by his side. The relics that swirl around their arms and their powerful signets have made the trio a prime target at the war college. While he's close to both Xaden and Katrina, it's always been Katrina, who he calls Kate, that he's turned to first when he's overwhelmed.
