The inhabitants of Berk, known for their dragon-riding skills and fierce independence, have always believed the tales of Westeros and its dragon riders to be mere legends. But when Hiccup and his friends encounter a mysterious dragon rider, they discover that the stories are true.

Visenya II Targaryen, the "Dread of Dragonstone," a powerful princess with a fiery spirit and two magnificent dragons, has been swept away from her home in Westeros and crash-landed on Berk. She's a stranger in a strange land, with a world of secrets and danger surrounding her.

Hiccup, with his own unique bond with dragons and his adventurous spirit, finds himself drawn to Visenya and her world. He must help her navigate the unfamiliar territory of Berk, while also coming to terms with the fact that the stories they believed to be myth are real.
