16-year-old Carter Coleman has always been the twin who wasn't enough. While her twin Whitney is an over achiever in everything, what was left for Carter? Nothing. She was never going to be as good as Whitney. Her grades are barley keeping her out of the hot seat at home, and her friends slowly turned to only be friends with the 'better' twin.
Carter has had enough. When thinking some pretty dark things, she was ready to just runaway from it all. So, she did. Or, well, tried. After being saved from her reckless actions, the so-called hero was non other than the bad boy at Westville High School, Kenji Cullen. He's a 17 year old, who is known for fighting anyone who pisses him off or if he just feels like it.
Kenji had been sought after by so many girls, even boys his entire high school life and ignored them all. What happens when he seems to start to follow Carter around like a guard dog? At first Carter was weirded out by it. Not only Kenji, but his sister, Nina began to be the only ones who ever really listened to Carter. Soon, she kind of grew used to them.
Follow Carter and her journey of hardship, romance, heartbreaks, fears and true joy as being 16-17 years old is not always the easiest thing for some.
