As soon as I heard my mother's footsteps approaching my room, I hid my bible back in its rightful place. I quickly make up my bed, consisting of a sheet, a firm pillow, and a thin blanket. I stand up straight, at the same time making sure that my bible is out of her eyeshot. I heard the all too familiar sound of her unlocking the door.
