Aether and Xiao met in a bookstore, the two really hit it off. After 2 months of dating, Xiao was ready to propose to Aether, but before he could, a war breaks out and he promises once he comes back he'll marry Aether.
Dear Xiao is a short story inspired by Dear Evan Hansen, Quiet at the Western Front, and Dear Dream. It's about two lovers separated by war and are forced to make assumptions on each other's well-being not knowing if one is alive or not. They started out by writing letters to each other, but as the war progressed they slowly stopped writing and lost contact.
