Leolin Madden is facing her toughest challenge yet: surviving her first year at Basgiath Academy. Struggling to keep up with her rigorous training, avoid the dangers that lurk around every corner, and bonding with a dragon, Leolin feels the weight of her new life pressing heavily on her shoulders. But the real test comes not just from her trials but from watching her ex-boyfriend, Xaden Riorson, fall for the enigmatic Sorrengail.

As if navigating the treacherous world of Basgiath isn't hard enough, Leolin finds herself drawn to Garrick Tavis, Xaden's best friend. Torn between old wounds and new feelings, Leolin must confront her past and embrace her future. With her heart in turmoil and the stakes higher than ever, she'll have to decide whether to follow her heart or protect it, all while surviving the unforgiving world of dragons and destiny.

What if Fen Riorson had another child, one that was sent away during the rebellion to live outside of Navarre? What if that child bonded to a gryphon and then a dragon? Guess you'll have to see.... In the dark heart of Basgiath, Hallie's return detonates like a thunderclap, rupturing the fragile peace she labored to build. She hungers for solitude, craves the tranquil embrace of her gryphon, yet fate cruelly intercedes. The brother she mourned as eternally lost emerges from the shadows, a savior from a nightmare that mocks belief. Hurling her back into a realm, she desperately fled, Hallie confronts a twisted reality where certainty withers like leaves in a storm. Each shadow conceals menace, and each face masks a potential betrayer. Join Hallie on her harrowing journey through this maelstrom of chaos, where every step forward plunges her deeper into the abyss, where the line between survival and oblivion blurs with each heartbeat. ○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○● The boy gasps and stares at me hard, his dark eyes breaking down every barrier I have ever built. "Hallie?" How does he know that? "Who the fuck are you?" I say as he reaches out for me. Vomryra lunges at him sensing my fear, but the man easily controls the shadows and holds her mid-air with them. He looks at me his eyebrows furrowed deeply. "Holy shit, it is you." He paces back and forth before finally answering my earlier question. "It's me, Xaden Riorson, your brother." DISCLAIMER: ALL RIGHTS BELONG TO REBBECCA YARROS (I do own some characters and events.) **AN XREADER VERSION IS AVAILABLE ON MY ACCOUNT. SEE FIRST PART FOR MORE DETAILS** *Book 1 of 2* Every year, swaths of 20-year-olds descend upon a college campus. Unfortunately, this college specializes in war, in consideration of the one raging at its borders. Outposts and enemies line the eastern mountains, guarded by many from the army, but most notably, the Dragon Riders. Zilphyer never planned to be one. She watched her grandfather descend into mad ramblings from his battles, then fell to the whims of a power-hungry colonel who would do anything to hurt her. The quadrant destroyed the good and empowered the bad, and she wanted no part of it. Unfortunately for Zilphyer, Basgiath had no plans to let her off so easily. When she stepped onto the bridge leading to the Riders Quadrant, she had no intentions of making it across. The quadrant only accepted volunteers, and she was ready to give her life. Not to fight, but to her mother.
