Fated

In a war torn dimension high in the heavens a baby girl was birthed from a divinely forsaken woman, then delivered to a mere mortal. This is the story of Aruna, now aged 18.

I was so light, I didn't notice my laughter pushing me closer and closer to the edge of the cloud. I didn't realize until finally, I toppled over. A woosh of air surrounded me, engulfing me in a warm blanket of terror. My laughter caught in my throat quickly replaced with the beginning of a high pitched ... The ground came quicker than I imagined it would. Quicker and less painful, I thought. I hadn't realized my eyes were clamped shut, peeking up I saw the concerned look of the man holding me. Looking past him, shooting from behind his red full mane of curls, were long wispy ivory colored feathers. Different lengths, all glimmering with different shades of pearl and opal. He caught me. I looked around, suddenly hyper aware of the indigo sky. We were flying. I reached my hand out to caress the beautifully arched feathers, when suddenly he brought his mouth to my ear,

"I'm so sorry, Genesis. I wish I could explain." He whispered, voice filled with sorrow.

"What do you mean? Wait, I'm slipping!"
