Everything changed that day when the sky turned black. When the creatures seemingly popped out of nowhere. All I wanted was for my brother to come back to me. For my family to no longer have to pretend to be happy. I never wanted this. I never expected this.
I had my future path planned out and mapped till every inch and corner was filled. I was going to finish high school. Get a cheer scholarship. Enter business school after undergrad. Get a nine-to-five job that whole thing. I didn't plan for monsters the size of trucks to come storming into my life. I mapped out how I would be spending the rest of my life in constant fear that they might end my life one day. I never figured out that I would be trapped in a pocket dimension, that my whole town would be trapped in a pocket of hell. When did it all go wrong?
