Jimin and Yoongi, both struggling with profound personal challenges, decide to try to make the most of their summer despite their inner turmoil.
Jimin, a 16-year-old who recently moved to Iowa Colony from Korea with his mother, is grappling with grief and isolation after the death of his father. He is withdrawn, struggling with an eating disorder, and resenting the recent move. His mother, eager to help him integrate, introduces him to the local pastor and his son, Yoongi.
Yoongi, 18, who was adopted by the pastor, understands the pain of loss all too well. Both he and Jimin are trying to find their place in a new environment. They bond over their shared struggles, including Jimin's difficulties with adapting to his new life and Yoongi's own emotional battles.
The summer is fraught with tension as Jimin tries to adjust, contending with both his grief and his new surroundings. The story takes a dark turn when Jimin's mother takes her own life, plunging him into a deeper state of despair.
Yoongi, despite his own struggles, becomes a source of support for Jimin, offering him a sense of solidarity and hope. Together, they navigate their complex emotions and try to find moments of connection and healing amidst the heat of the summer.
Through their journey, *July Heat* explores themes of grief, adaptation, and the struggle to find light in the darkest times.

Jungkook, although younger, has taken him under his wing. He's going to help him see in colours again, and remind him of true happiness.
warning - has mention of suicide, suicidal thoughts and depression. Also has homosexual themes, as well as suggested mature themes.
