A short story about the Folklore Triangle.
Cardigan- Bettys perspective
August- Augustines perspective
Betty- James's perspective
I do not own these characters, or most of the story. This is purely a fan fiction based off of what I imagine the songs would be based off of.

August
Augustine can't wait to go back to her family's PEI beach cottage for the summer. It's her escape from her ex-best friend ruining school, and the only place she feels at home. Summer is for relaxing and long walks on the beach. No distractions. James is your average nerd who loves astronomy and reading. He doesn't care for the summer vacation his stepmother and father dragged him into. He's still healing from a heartbreak he keeps secret, not looking for anyone new. So what happens when Augustine and James meet? Though both painfully awkward, they manage to make a connection that brings out the their fun sides and flirty personalities. But what about when August is over? Is their bond strong enough to hold them together, or will they be forced to let each other go? Inspired by Taylor Swift's song, August All quotes at the beginning of each chapter are lyrics from the songAbgeschlossen

Lacey
James Hill is an ordinary 20-something Yalie. While incredibly book smart, he has to work two jobs during the summer and maintain his Internet presence to earn enough money for surviving. Well-known in both online writing and video creation communities, his reputation has been somewhat tainted by various incidents - from his own arrogance to a messy set of affairs involving a pair of rivals named Augusta and Betty. Still, James has been getting by relatively well. Then Lacy comes in. Lacy has a crush on James. She is also everything he hates. She's spirited and eclectic and unfiltered. She wants to make it somewhere in content creation - whether that's in music or writing. And she won't change who she is at heart just to fit in with her publication mutuals. Thus, James seizes this opportunity to sabotage Lacy's prospects. But it won't be all fun and games... (While there are unreliable tabloid rumors about the identity of Olivia Rodrigo's Lacy, my story is not intended to replicate true events - be they those of her or me. My story is also only very loosely inspired by Taylor Swift's Folklore love triangle and the former, so do not expect a lot of similarities).Abgeschlossen
