I still don't know why I was at that party. I only knew one person there,Kirsten. She was also the one who dragged me there, I wanted one night to myself but no. Kirsten Wants to party, Kirsten will party. Of course, her drunk ass needed someone to look after her. That someone was me, Kara.
It was a basically a college party, loud and drunk. Kirsten ran off with some guy leaving me to sit on the couch by myself.
"Bitch" I muttered to myself.
"You okay?" a random guy asked.
"Huh? oh I'm fine just a little abandoned" I replied.
"I know how you feel" he smiled.
He sat down next to me as drunks stumbled around us.
"Who abandoned you?" I questioned.
“My friend Bob, he went with his girlfriend” he answered.
"Apparently my friend went with her boyfriend of ten seconds too!” I joked.
“I'm Mark by the way” Mark smiled softly.
“Kara” I said.
“I like the name Kara” he said.
“I don't” I sighed.
“Why not?!” he exclaimed.
“It's tacky” I giggled at his shocked appearance.
“It is not” he said putting a hand on his chest.
As the night carried on we continued drinking and talking. I never saw Kirsten but some guy, who I'm guessing was Bob, came up to Mark and said he was leaving. Mark nodded and told him he'd catch a ride home later. After quite a few drinks later, Mark and I ended up in one of the upstairs rooms. It was clumsy but certainly not bad. I just wonder if we made a mistake that night.... Or one of the best choices of our lives.
