Jo Iris is the lead singer of The Bards. She's charming, young, and just has that aura that makes her so entrancing. She's everything the Capitol wants. So when she's reaped with the not-so-charming fourteen-year-old Isaac Halloran for the annual seventy-third Hunger Games with the drunk Victor Haymitch Abernathy and the famous Effie Trinket, she gets a good look at the cruelty of people outside of District Twelve and the horror that is the Games. It takes no smart person to see that the odds are never going to be in her favor, so will she test that and win, or will she go off into the afterlife with her Ma and Pa?
