Without hesitation, Noah began carefully untangling my hair, his expression serious. "I will try not to hurt you," he said, his tone sincere.
I silently wished he would refrain from speaking, fearing my own thoughts might stray into inappropriate territory. But as my face brushed against his chest, I couldn't ignore the sweet scent of his perfume. It was an unexpected contrast to his intimidating demeanor; he smelled like chocolate. As much as I wanted to inquire about his choice of fragrance, I resisted, aware of the inappropriate context.
"Um... Julie... I have already removed it, you can get up," Noah's voice interrupted my thoughts, snapping me out of my reverie.
Startled, I stood up, realizing I had kept my face pressed against his chest even after he had backed away. Moving to the railing, I leaned against it, trying to distract myself with the mesmerizing view. But my mind was elsewhere, overwhelmed by embarrassment.
'God, please take me away,' I silently pleaded. 'I don't mind even if it's hell. Please.'
