"A curse, said the man... but a gift, said the Overseer."

A mutation in human DNA modified a selected few of the population in Washington, changed them into creatures and gave them magical abilities that were only found in books and movies within just a week's time. However, two step-siblings get thrown into a two-sided war between an Overseer and a Man, where there are more secrets to unravel than the truths being told. What happens when each sibling only gets to see one side of the story? The past and future can only show the whole story if both are willing to share... or if both are near each other to start with. But if one is whisked away to the Academy and the other isn't, the mission gets a lot more difficult, and everything seems a lot more one-sided.

As a result each twin got only half of the traits they were originally supposed to get. Skylar got the strength and speed while Jake got the brains. When they realized what had happened, the twins' parents immediately put them up for adoption, so neither one knew of the other. 12 years later Skylar is constantly failing all her classes, and Jake is getting bullied because he is so much weaker than other kids. But then Skylar's adoptive family decides to move across the country to find a new school for their daughter, which happens to be the school Jake goes to. They meet completely by accident. In the meantime, their parents have found a way to fix their mistake from 12 years ago -- they can make one of the twins perfect. But it requires for the other twin to give their life.

Like, mutant-level things... Lauren, Luc's dead twin sister, hid something from everyone. Something important that may have lead to her demise and that could lead to ours. Hunters are in town. I never knew four words could contain so much dread and terror. I'd rather deal with the Wanderers. I'm on the brink of a breakdown. I need help..." BOOK #2 IN THE SERIES! Ignorance is not bliss... In the wake of ridding Oakwood of Wanderers, other dangers come creeping in and they're somehow linked to Luc's absent twin. The past returns to haunt the mutants in inconspicuous ways. Now, 17 years later, I decided to actually turn it into a full flesh story. I will note that it may be somewhat confusing to read due to the way I write in this. But over time it will become easier.
